18th - 19th Nov - Sunday morning came and I was down for breakfast early chatting with more runners wondering what the meeting would bring.  9am came and as soon as we sat down there was a whisper that there may be a chance we were leaving tonight.

17th Nov - The last couple of days have been tiring to say the least.Birmingham to Paris, Paris to Santiago, Santiago to Punta Arenas left me jaded and spaced out with a mammoth 34 hours travelling in total.

The Iceman: Last Week Of Running

15th - 21st Oct - This week was my last big week of running.So the text book says you should start to taper the month before the race.    When you've been doing so many miles for so long I find it hard to just scale it right back.

1st - 7th Oct - After my physio this morning I was raring to go and couldn't wait to get out when I got down to Exeter.  Running by the side of the river Exe heading down the estuary towards Dawlish I completed 15 miles but struggled.

The Iceman: A Lonely Sport

17th - 23rd Sept - I started the week with a superb 9 mile trail run through Sherwood Forest.    My brother and my niece Claire came up on their bikes which was a refreshing change having some company.It is a lonely sport normally, especially when you've completed a marathon.

The Iceman: More Training In The Cold

10th - 16th Sept - Monday I was tired from the long run the day before.However I  thought it would be a good idea to shake the cobwebs off and do 5 miles.What a silly idea.  A very slow sluggish run forced a rest day Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Iceman: Remember To Stretch

3rd - 9th Sept - The week started with a restless night and I found myself putting my running gear on at 4.30.What a loser!   I then spent 20 minutes stretching and got on the road for an 8 mile run.I was all done and finished before 6am.
