Should Pakistan be Banned from International Cricket?

pakistan match fixing

A largely dismal summer of international cricket in England, plagued by spot-fixing scandals off the field and mismatches on it, has ended on a really sour note. After the third one-day international last week at The Oval, the cricket descended into bitter finger-pointing.

Ijaz Butt, the chairman of the Pakistani Cricket Board aimed match-fixing allegations at the England side, whilst both Nasser Hussain and Sir Ian Botham called for Pakistan to be banned from all cricket until any suspicion regrading their involvement in the game has subsided. Botham was particularly blunt, saying that any corruption in the game was "appalling, farcical and should be stamped out."

Such brutal honesty from the England legend has understandably caused quite a stir. Do you think Pakistan should be banished to the international wilderness whilst they clean up their act? Or are the current crop of players like Mohammad Amir, Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi too exciting to be hid from the public eye? Should the series have even been allowed to continue the way it has? Or should England have gone on strike following the allegations? Let us know you thoughts.
