The candidates for the PFA player of the year award have been released with all of the usual suspects making up the nominees. Manchester United will be hoping to win the award for the fourth consecutive year after Cristiano Ronaldo won the award twice and Ryan Giggs claimed last years prize.
The veteran midfielder's teammate, Wayne Rooney is the overwhelming favourite, with fellow strikers Didier Drogba and Carlos Tevez also nominated. Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas, completes the list which is made of players who all represent the current top four.
Surely the likes of Brede Hangelandand Mark Schwarzer deserve some recognition for their amazing efforts in helping Fulham reach the semi-finals of the Europa Cup? What about Jermaine Defoe or Gareth Bale at Spurs who have both had outstanding seasons?
