Will Liverpool's new owners stand by Hodgson?

hodgson2

On Sunday afternoon there was a sense of expectation at Goodison Park. Not from the Everton fans, but from Liverpool supporters who were hoping to see a performance that would prove to John W Henry that he had bought the right club.

After being on the brink of administration the unpopular duo of Tom Hicks and George Gillett were finally removed from the club and there was a real sense of occasion as Steven Gerrard led the team out.

Ninety minutes later and Liverpool had suffered yet another Premier League defeat. With just one win in eight league games it is the worse start to a league season for 57 years.

Boardroom unrest was the reason given for lackluster displays earlier in the campaign. So what was the problem at Goodison Park on Sunday?

Liverpool were outplayed and outworked. Torres continued to struggle - although a lack of service did not help - and the defence looked shaky.

The Reds now find themselves second bottom of the Premier League. Who is to blame for the current problems? Is the squad simply not good enough to compete? Could Liverpool find themselves in a relegation battle?

With the fans already calling for the return of Kenny Daglish, will Roy Hodgson face the prospect of losing his job before Christmas?

What are your thoughts on the current Liverpool crisis?
