The Royal Rumble is officially the beginning of the road to the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania, and since it's inception 25 years ago has produced many great moments.
Here at Sportsvibe.co.uk we have looked back and have picked our top 10 moments for the Royal Rumble match up.
10. Gone in 1 Second
Santino Marella holds the record for the shortest time spent in a Royal Rumble match up. Running down full of energy and eagerness Marella's participation in the 2009 Rumble was very short lived.
sliding under the bottom rope to enter the ring, once he got to his feet he was instantly met by a clothes line from Kane and sent back to the outside of the ring over the top rope in just one second.
Beth Pheonix was the second women ever to enter the Royal Rumble match when she entered at number sixth. The first Diva to compete in a Royal Rumble was Chyna who took part in both 1999 and 2000.
However Beth will always be remembered for eliminating the 7'1" Great Khali. Khali picked Beth up and placed he on the ring apron, but using some quick thinking she kissed the giant and tossed him over the rope.
Beth then clotheslined CM Punk but he immediately hit her with the Go To Sleep, and eliminated her over the top rope.
In 1988 wrestling fans were introduced to a new PPV concept known as the Royal Rumble, and although there may have only been 20 participants in the original match, but it was the one that set the standard for what the Royal Rumble match should be.
The One Man Gang standing 6'4" tall was the clear favourite eliminating people left, right and centre throwing bodies over the top rope. There was only one guy left between him and victory, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Duggan could not go toe-to-toe with the One Man Gang in terms of size and strength however Hacksaw had speed on his side.
Just as it looked as though One Man Gang was going to win the match with Hacksaw up against the ropes, he went for a running clothesline but Duggan was able to duck and used Gangs momentum to put him over the top rope, to make Hacksaw the first ever winner of the Royal Rumble match.
The 1999 Royal Rumble match wasn't about getting a shot at the world title at Wrestlemania but more about the feud between Stone Cold Steve Austin and the owner of the WWE Vince McMahon.
McMahon was entrant No. 2 but spent most of the match on commentary at ringside. Austin eliminated the Big Boss Man leaving only McMahon left and after delivering a stunner to the boss, world champion The Rock made his way down to the ring to distract Austin for McMahon to throw The Rattlesnake over the top rope from behind.
Austin still however went onto the main event of Wrestlemania and challenge for the world title against The Rock and won.
The answer to this question is eight, the most amount of wrestlers it has taken to eliminate a single wrestler in the history of the Rumble. Having entered the match as entrant 19 Viscera who is 6'9" and weighs 487 lb was eliminated after six minutes and 22 seconds.
Viscera was rocked by a Shawn Michael's Sweet Chin Music, that then opened the door for Rob Van Dam, Edge, CM Punk, Chris Benoit, Johnny Nitro, Shelton Benjamin, Hardcore Holly and Thron to eliminate the big man by getting him over the top rope.
