Here's a thought to get you arguing. Having just returned from the world athletics championships in Berlin, where I was fortunate to have observed Usain Bolt smash the 100 and 200 metres world records with times which are difficult to believe, it is pretty clear that he has become the most outstanding, popular and talked about athlete in the world, this year and for many years. But is he now the best sportsman in the world? Tiger Woods may have something to say about that, as he currently sits on 14 major titles to his name, likewise Roger Federer, who remains the king of the tennis court with 15 majors. Football's Messi, Kaka and Ronaldo can add their weight to the argument, too. But, right now, it has to be Bolt. You just don't know what he's going to do next, and he makes required viewing, not only for his running, but all his other antics too on the start and finish lines. Woods, Federer, the footballers, and others, may all be sitting at the top table of sport, but Bolt is now at the head.
