Out on court Rafa Nadal, new best friend of Rory McIlroy incidentally, was honing his grass court skills just a fortnight after winning on the red clay at Roland Garros. Grass was supposed to be his weaker surface although with the slowing up of the courts in recent years it has meant that the defending champion has already won two Wimbledon titles. Meanwhile Roger Federer (a mere six Wimbledon singles titles and 16 Grand Slams in total) was talking to us about his belief in equalling Pete Sampras's Wimbledon mark of seven titles, Andy Murray had the demeanour of someone who reckons he might just pull it off this time and Novak Djokovic too quite clearly fancied his chances.
It was during the Djovokic press conference that Sportsvibe friend Caroline Wozniacki burst in and pretended to be a journalist. On the subject of Djovokic's semi-final loss to Federer in Paris, which put an end to a long winning streak this year, the women's world number one asked: "So, you're on a losing streak of one. How does that feel?"
We'll let Caroline off because she's great fun, as you can see with the two filmed interviews with the Dane we have on Sportsvibe TV, but her hijacking a press conference is like me tapping away on my laptop sitting in the middle of Centre Court during her match.
If you want a dark horse for the women's title then I suggest China's Li Na, who lost in the final of the Australian Open and then won the French title. A mere 116 million Chinese watched her win Asia's first Grand Slam title in Paris. As for the men, it's hard to say Murray because he will need to beat two out of Nadal, Federer and Djokovic. You get the feeling it's now or never though for Andy.
