Shambles at McLaren

lewis0

Analyse the last few years at McLaren-Mercedes and you will come to the conclusion that it has been an utter shambles for the Woking-based Formula One outfit, and yes, this is despite the fact that they won the driovers' world championship last year with Lewis McLaren. Two years ago we had the scandal over the leaked information between McLaren and Ferrari involving a senior figure at McLaren which resulted in the removal of the team from the Constructors' Championship. Now we have sanctioned lying to race stewards following the Australian GP which has resulted in the suspension of the team's sporting director, Dave Ryan, and an emotional confession by Hamilton, who should have known better. Throw in the other less controversial spats - the fall-out between drivers Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, the various points docked and grid positions lessened as a result of other misdemeanours - and McLaren has caused more problems than the other teams added together. They believe that the likes of F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has it in for them. Well they don't need the sport's leaders to have it in for them. McLaren are doing a good enough job at this by themselves!
