Meet the New Face of Body-Building

The image of body builders has not exactly been great over the years. Arnold Schwarzenegger may have been glamorous and gone on to become an A-list Hollywood star and Governor of California, and Lou Ferrigno may have turned into the Incredible Hulk but, by and large, the public perception of the art is one of vanity and muscle-enhancing drugs. Enter Dave Titterton, aka "Mr Universe." Dave lives in a South Yorkshire village with his lovely wife Cheryl and their two kids, and spends his days either training in the local gym or caring for the children whilst his wife works full-time. He won the Universe title last month and laughs at his new name. He is a dedicated person at what he does, but does not take himself too seriously and, on meeting him, appears to be down to earth and a thoroughly nice bloke. Moreover he hates the image of drugged-up thugs that has inflicted what he loves to do. The next goal for him is the professional "Mr Olympia" title in America, but only after he has ensured his young family has a lovely Christmas. Our very own Mr Universe is a credit to his sport and will change its image for the better.
