Thom's Plight Creates Perspective

Thom Evans

It's been quite a weekend in the RBS Six Nations, with France destroying Ireland in Paris, Wales pulling off one of the comebacks of all time in a never-to-be-forgotten win over Scotland, and Italy almost pulling off a shock win over a lack-lustre England. Of course, the brutal physicality of the game was also highlighted by the neck operation on Scotland centre Thom Evans who, at the time of writing this blog, was moving his feet and arms in what is a highly encouraging development after his collision at the Millennium Stadium. I was at the Cardiff Hilton late on Saturday night when his brother and Scottish teammate Max finally returned from the University College Hospital with anxiety etched all over his face. Losing a test match when ten points up with three minutes remaining may be tough to take for the Scots. But the image of Max and both parents beside Thom's bed as questions were being asked over his future mobility places a game into massive perspective. Everyone at Sportsvibe wishes Thom a speedy and full recovery.
