Craig Kieswetter has become the latest South African born batsman to represent England, making his competitive debut against Bangladesh in Dhaka. Joining the likes of Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott, the young wicketkeeper-batsman has had to wait 4 years to qualify for England and will be hoping to make an impression in all formats of the game.
Should fans be glad that these incredibly talented cricketers have chosen to represent England? Would these three players have been good enough to represent South Africa?
Do cricket fans want the best possible players representing England or should players raised on home soil be given more of a chance?
Unfortunately Bopara is a little too hit and miss for England, his test record reads three centuries and no fifties. Although with Pietersen producing little in the way of results since his return from injury it may be prudent to give Bopara another chance to prove himself and allow Pietersen time to rest and hopefully take get back to top form.

I personally have no problem with us picking the likes of Pieterson, Trott and Kieswetter as they are clearly very talented batsman. With any luck it will also help other young English batsman step up and improve their game. It would be great to see Ravi Bopara given another chance as he is the sort of destructive batsman we need.

I believe we should embrace the players entering the English game, it's up to the young cricketers in this country to look up to the talented individuals that have entered the fold and to learn from them. With better players entering the English game we should hopefully see some home grown players taking their games to another level, and we honestly cannot deny that picking these talented individuals has produced a return - two Ashes anyone?
These players more than likely could have represented South Africa, however sport in South Africa is unfortunately rife with internal politics that can be extremely off-putting for young individuals. We should embrace the fact that these talented cricketers have chosen England as their home away from home and support them as they hopefully lead us to further victories!

The best possible players should represent England. I don't see a problem with it as it raises the competition for places. If the best English players get comfortable knowing their going to be first choice the extra competition should push them on to the next level
