At this summer’s World Cup in South Africa, Umbro will be represented by England, providing them with two completely reworked kit designs which move away from dated motifs and return to classical looks.

The home shirt is essentially a plain white polo, with a large England crest and Umbro logo. However, there is more to it than that. Umbro have ‘tailored’ their shirts so they are more fitted to the wearer and use material which replicates vintage jerseys, while maintaining the current trend of breathable fabrics.

The same can be said of England’s away kit, which attempts to recreate the icon 1966 shirt worn by the likes of Moore and Hurst. Following the ‘tailored’ trend, the England away shirt is fitted to the wearer, while allowing flexibility and movement through a three paneled design. Complete with white cuffs, this jersey brings a classic look into the 21st century.
