Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been handed a boost after transfer target Nicolas Otamendi has seen his proposed move to Valencia fall through.
The Argentine defender was on the verge of securing a move to La Liga but the deal fell through in the final stages due to a dispute over wages.
And that could mean the Porto defender has been given the all clear for a move to the Premier League if the top sides are still interested.
Manchester City seems like the most likely destination for the 25-year-old after reports emerged that Manuel Pellegrini was linked with a double swoop for Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala.
With Joleon Lescott looking to leave the Etihad, it could be the catalyst to move for the defender.
According to the Express, Jose Mourinho and David Moyes are also thought to be big fans of Otamendi but will need to move quickly with the deadline looming this Friday.
