Fomrer Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour feels his former boss Arsene Wenger show sign Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe in the summer transfer window.
Defoe is currently on his second spell at White Hart Lane after re-joining the club from Portsmouth in 2009.
Last season was not the 28-year-old's best campaign by his own standards, due to a number of injuries throughout the season.
However Defoe has voiced his opinion on wanting to play more regular first-team football. Last season he made 30 appearances in all competitions, but most of which were from off the substitute bench.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Parlour drew the similarities between Defoe and his old team-mate at the Gunners, Ian Wright: "They do need a striker, Marouane Chamakh found it difficult. He did well in the early parts of the season but went off the boil a bit.
"They should get someone who's a little bit different, who can score a goal, like and Ian Wright. Jermain Defoe would be a good signing for me.
"Tottenham fans won't like it but that's how it goes these days. I was there when Sol Campbell signed and he was a great player for Arsenal."
In the 30 games that Defoe featured in for Spurs last season he only managed to score nine goals.
