Everton are reportedly set to make a move for Chelsea's out-of-favour forward Salomon Kalou and could make their move during the January transfer window.
The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of the season and appears set to leave Stamford Bridge. It has been widely reported that Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas will let him leave this month if a suitable offer is received.
It had been rumoured that Arsenal were considering an offer for Kalou, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger stated on Friday he would not be joining the club.
And according to The Times, Everton are ready to make a move and hope to sign Kalou on a bargain.
David Moyes' side have struggled for goals this season; Leon Osman, Apostolos Vellios and Leighton Baines lead the club's scoring charts with just three strikes each.
Moyes is desperate to bring in a forward and with little money to spend, Kalou represents a good value option.
One potential obstacle could be Kalou's salary demands. He currently earns around £70,000 a week and would have to take a significant pay cut to move to Goodison Park.
