Chelsea Make £15.8 Bid for Tottenham Hotspur Target Oscar

Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with a move for Internacoinal midfielder Oscar who was recently said to be on the wishlist of former Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas.

The Evening Standard has reported that Chelsea representatives have already held a number of discussions with the Brazilian club and have made an official offer of £15.8million.

Villas-Boas was reportedly keen to bring Oscar to White Hart Lane but it seems he will face stiff competition from his former club and London rivals.

Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo is said to want more creativity in his midfield and there had been suggestions that he would look to enter the race to sign Tottenham's Luka Modric.

However, it seems as though he is instead looking to sign the Brazil international who first came to prominence with his superb performances in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Oscar scored a hat-trick in the final win against Portugal and has since gone on to earn six caps for the senior Brazil side, opening his account in the 4-3 loss to Argentina in which Messi grabbed three goals of his own.

Both clubs will be hoping to persuade Internacional to part with the 20-year-old who seems destined to test himself in Europe.
