New Chelsea signing Samuel Eto’o has revealed that he never wanted to play under Jose Mourinho because of his dislike for the manager.
Mourinho signed Eto’o at the end of the summer transfer window for a fee of £7million on a one-year-deal having worked with the Cameroonian international at Inter Milan.
Before the Portuguese manager went to Milan, Eto’o admitted the relationship between himself and Mourinho was so tense because of the rivalry Mourinho had with Barcelona when he had his first managerial stint with Chelsea.
The 32-year-old even confessed he told himself he would never play for a club where Mourinho was in charge.
He told The Sun: “Before meeting at Inter, we didn't know each other personally, so our relationship was tense.
“I even said one time that I'd never play for a club where Jose was coach.
“But God knows best. He wanted to show me that I was wrong and today Jose is a friend. Now he's my coach again.”
Mourinho enjoyed a highly successful stint in Italy where he won two Serie A titles the Italian Cup and most notably the Champions League in the two seasons he reigned.
Only yesterday, revelations were made from Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos that Eto’o can have a negative influence in the dressing room.
