French Giants PSG Plot €150m Move for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney

Big spending Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain have big ambitions for next season as they plot a sensational €150million offer for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney

Last season PSG showed their willingness to compete with Europe's elite when they managed to convince Javier Pastore to move to the French capital for a Ligue 1 transfer record fee.

The side managed by Carlo Ancelotti were keen to try and sign both Carlos Tevez and Alexander Pata in the January transfer window but neither deal could be completed.

Now, according to Spanish newspaper Sport, they have set their sights in landing Rooney as they attempt to win the title next season and compete in the Champions League.

PSG could only finish second behind surprise champions Montpellier and now they hope to convince Rooney to move to France by making a huge offer of €150m which would include the transfer fee and the players wages.

The club's owners Qatar Investment Authority have looked to Manchester City as the way to bring success and see the heavy investment that went into Roberto Mancini's side.

Sport has also reported that PSG have already approached the company that manages the affairs of Rooney as they attempt to try and convince him to move to the French capital.
