John Aldridge has praised Jordan Henderson for turning his Liverpool career round in recent weeks after being heavily criticised since his move from Sunderland.
Henderson has started the last four games for the Reds and found the back of the net with a volley against Norwich and a dogged individual effort against Arsenal.
"I have to applaud Jordan Henderson for turning his Liverpool career around," Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.
"I've been among his critics as when we bought him I expected a lot more. But now he's coming to the party.
"He played really well at Arsenal and I thought Sunday was his best display for the club. He's working really hard and justifying his place ahead of Joe Allen.
"Being crowned England U21 player of the year will only enhance his confidence and I'm delighted for him."
