Messi Picks Rooney, Van Persie and Aguero as the Best Players in the Premier League

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has spoken of his admiration for the Premier league and revealed just who he thinks are the best players currently plying their trade in England.

The Argentinean is arguably the best player in the world, some would say Cristiano Ronaldo, and has proved on the biggest stage again this season just how deadly he can be, scoring five goals in one game for Barcelona in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen.

The prolific forward was asked which players he enjoyed watched in the Premier League and he picked out three particular favourites.

"There are several quality players in the Premier League like Kun Aguero, who is my friend. I really like how he plays," Messi told BBC reporters. "Rooney [and] Van Persie are playing really well - they are great players."

Messi was also questioned on who he believed was the best player he had ever played alongside and he could not pick just one.

"I have been lucky to always have really good team-mates," added Messi.

"I was to lucky to play with Ronaldinho, with Deco, with [Samuel] Eto'o, and nowadays with Xavi [Hernandez],[Andres] Iniesta [and] Cesc [Fabregas]. It is very difficult to pick one.

"All those players are spectacular and I was lucky to play with them, to experience that, to train with them, play with them - it was wonderful."

The 24-year-old is already considered by many to be one of the greatest players of all time but the level headed forward was quick to say he does not feel as though it is possible to compare players.

"No one player is the same as another. I think each player has his own style, and we're all different," declared the player who has a stunning record of 50 goals in just 44 appearances for club and country this season.
