Tottenham are putting together a bid for Liverpool playmaker Joe Cole, according to the Mirror.
Cole only moved to Anfield from Chelsea a year ago but he has endured a frustrating start to his time at Liverpool. A loss of form and continuous problems with injury has seen the 29-year-old drop down the pecking order.
The arrival of three new midfielders in the shape of Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson has pushed Cole closer to the exit and Spurs are ready to offer him an escape.
Despite his difficult year at Liverpool, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp remains a keen admirer and is confident Cole can still deliver at the highest level.
A Tottenham insider is quoted in the Metro as saying the club are prepared to offer the former West Ham captain a "very lucrative" deal.
Newly-promoted QPR have also been linked with Cole while it was reported last week that big-spending French side PSG are ready to take the England midfielder to France.
It is thought they are ready to offer Cole, whose exit from Anfield appears inevitable, £90,000 a week to make the move abroad.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is looking to offload some of his midfielders in an attempt to balance the club's books and to make room for his new signings.
