Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for Barcelona striker David Villa after he was quizzed on the rumours this morning.
There has been speculation regarding Villa and the Gunners all month and although the Spaniard is thought to want to leave Catalonia the French boss has ruled out the move.
"We are not on the case," Wenger told reporters when asked about a potential move for Villa. "We want to make things happen from inside the club. We have the resources to do well.
"The gamble is much bigger than during the summer. The number of players you are allowed to sign should be limited."
After ruling out the signing Wenger went on to praise strikers Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud who scored in the 5-1 win over West Ham.
"[Walcott] has improved everywhere. His finishing has improved a lot. [Giroud] is developing well and fights for the team," he added.
