Which Manchester City Star Turned Down United Switch?
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri reportedly turned down the chance to join Manchester United from Arsenal because he was unimpressed with Sir Alex Ferguson, and instead signed for the Citizens.
åÊ
The Express report that the Frenchman had a secret meeting with Ferguson over a possible move to United, but the Scot put Nasri off the move by claiming he would Û÷have to go to warÛª with Arsene Wenger to convince him to go ahead with the deal.

In the article, Nasri is quoted saying: ÛÏWe met in Paris with Sir Alex in a private apartment so as not to fuel rumours by meeting in a hotel.
åÊ
“I was not convinced by his speech. There was one thing that was a problem.
åÊ
“He said he had never hired an Arsenal player and he’d have to go to war.
åÊ
“I told him that it does not interest me to go to war with Arsene Wenger.”

Nasri has since won two Premier League titles at the Etihad, as well as one FA Cup – and heÛªll be hoping to add a Champions League medal to his cabinet to fully justify his decision to join the blue half of Manchester.

City just about made it through to the knock-out stages this time around, and their reward was a last-16 tie with Barcelona, the first leg of which will be played on February 24 at the Etihad Stadium.

Manuel PellegriniÛªs side fell two points behind Chelsea in the race to the Premier League title on Saturday after a 1-1 draw with Everton, and it now appears to be very much a two-horse race between them and Jose MourinhoÛªs side.
