2015 Cricket Review: Adidas Adipower Vector Bowling Shoes
With the 2015 cricket season just around the corner, Sportsvibe are looking at some of the latest cricket equipment and accessories to help you decide what gear you should be buying to step out on the field with.

Anyone in the bowlers’ union will agree, finding the perfect pair of cricket spikes to provide comfort and style is a daunting task. Be it your toes crushing against the front of the boots as you steam in off the long run, or losing your grip as you prepare to bowl a ball reminiscent to Shane WarneÛªs famous leg-spin, footwear is potentially the most vital component of a bowlerÛªs arsenal.
åÊ
For years I have struggled in vain to find the perfect match, chopping and changing between different shoes, always being able to find fundamental floors with ease. Much to my surprise, having recently tested the new Adidas adipower vector boots, I am struggling to find a negative in the shoes.
åÊ
With the likes of England stars Stuart Broad and James Anderson sporting AdidasÛª latest creation, the latter a key figure in their design, they are obviously a popular choice amongst those at the highest level of the game. The new design and style, which has a bold red heel is magnificent and will certainly help you stand out on the pitch.

Often, when struggling with comfort on landing during my bowling action, I have had to cut a hole in the toe of my landing foot to allow my toe to slide forward upon impact with the wicket. With the new Adidas creation, landing during your bowling action is a light as you can possibly imagine, with extra padding making a tiring run up and landing much easier. The boot features a bevelled heel which allows for a smooth transition between jumping and landing, and Adidas have also included a lightweight TPU outsole.

There is a band in the midfoot that helps lock the foot in place, making sure that you have every chance to send the ball exactly where you want it, ensuring that your grip is excellent.

With the ability to take your spikes out if needed, they have plenty of versatility and will appeal to a large number of cricketers regardless of what level they play. Another issue that has plagued me is the fit of previous cricket shoes. With size 12 feet it has always been a struggle, but the adipower vectors fit to your feet as if they had been moulded to you.
åÊ
The adipower vectors have been specifically designed for bowlers, although that is not to say batsman canÛªt wear them as well. With focus on the toe and heel to provide comfort and to help reduce injuries common in those in search of wickets, the new shoes are certainly the Rolls Royce of cricket footwear.
åÊ
Set to be on full show at the World Cup, a number of the worldÛªs greatest players will be wearing the shoes on the biggest stage of all in Australia and New Zealand.
åÊ
If you are still in two minds as to which bowling shoes you will be purchasing ahead of the new season, make sure you head straight to the Adidas website to buy the adipower vector boots, as they are simply leading the market so far in terms of providing bowlers with the maximum comfort for their vital role in the side.
