åÊ
Etixx – Quick-Step’s Matteo Trentin clinched the sixth stage of the Aviva Tour Of Britain, a stage that also saw teammmate Mark Cavendish crash – resulting in his withdrawal from the race.
åÊ
Trentin beat overall leader Edvald Boasson Hagen of MTN-Qhubeka to the finish line, although the Norwegian did earn enough bonus seconds to broaden the gap to 13 seconds, as the riders head in to the race’s final two stages.åÊ
åÊ
Boasson Hagen, who won the race in 2009 couldn’t stop Trentin claiming Etixx – Quick-Step’s third stage win of this year’s tour – with Team Sky also winning.åÊ
åÊ
Trentin’s 30-year-old teammate is believed to have hit a parked car during today’s stage, with many fearing the worst – after injuring the same left shoulder he dislocated whilst competing at the 2014 Tour de France.
åÊ
However, it has been reported that he has just suffered from bruising.åÊ
åÊ
Cyclists now head to Norfolk, as this year’s penultimate race awaits.åÊ
