The kick off for the hotly anticipated FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 is fast approaching, and fans have found that access to Russia has been especially easy thanks to the introduction of FAN ID – a ground-breaking new initiative by the host nation for both Russian and foreign fans.

Fan ID allows football fans to enter Russia visa-free, saving up to hundreds of Pounds as well as granting free travel not only within the cities that the matches are being played, but also for all intercity match travel too. The document will provide fans entry to all stadiums, and will also act as their ticket to their chosen matches, keeping life even more simple for all those attending multiple matches.

Andrei Romankov, Deputy Director of Strategic Projects Department, Ministry of Communications comments:  “FAN ID is free to fans and required to all attending 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup matches. It is a great initiative which allows international fans visa-free entry to Russia ten days before the opening match of the Confederations Cup and until up to ten days from the end of the tournament!”

FAN ID is mandatory for all fans wishing to attend any FIFA Confederations Cup matches, and is issued free of charge for both international and Russian fans. It is only valid if a fan has tickets for 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup matches. Fans can apply for their FAN ID at fan-id.ru.

Once a fan has obtained their FAN ID, they can plan their travel in Russia taking advantage of free routes offered to fans attending matches. For more information, please visit tickets.transport2018.com. There will be technical support desks set up for fans available in the host cities airports and sea ports.

People from over 100 countries around the world including Chile, Mexico, Germany, United States, Australia and United Kingdom have already applied for their FAN IDs, which will provide them with convenient and quick access to stadiums.
