Tarun Reddy aims to kick on with Drivex
Friday 1st September
EuroFormula Open 2017 is all set to recommence at Silverstone this weekend (2-3 September) after the mid-season break, with Tarun Reddy entering new but familiar surroundings at Drivex.
The Rising Indian motorsport star tested with the outfit, co-founded by ex-Formula 1 racer Pedro de la Rosa, during the off-season. This familiarity with his new team has helped Tarun settle quickly, and he is now primed to build on his performances throughout the first half of his maiden EF Open campaign over the remaining four rounds.
“It’s great to be back after such a long break, first of all,” said Tarun. “It’s really nice to be back in the car after two months.
“I’ve been doing my bit – staying fit and making sure I’m in the best shape possible going into the Silverstone weekend.
“I’ve felt comfortable at Drivex straight away,” he continued. “I worked with them through pre-season testing last year, so we have a strong relationship – it’s been really easy to slot in here.
“With more hard work on my part, I believe we can build on the first half of the season and really put us in the mix”
Last time out at Budapest’s Hungaroring, Tarun produced a double points finish and a season-high of sixth spot overall, and he’s looking to go again this weekend at Silverstone – a circuit he loves to race at.
“I’ve driven Silverstone before and really enjoyed it – it’s a great place to go racing,” said Tarun. “I’ve had a little bit of success around there – I finished third in British F3 last year and took home a bit of silverware, so we’ll see what we can do this year, albeit in different machinery.
“It’s the one circuit on the calendar that I’ve had a fair bit of running on throughout my career, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
Veloce Sports founder Rupert Svendsen-Cook added: “It’s been a long time since the last race but it certainly doesn’t feel it with all the work that’s been going on behind the scenes!
“Tarun showed very good progress in the first half of the season and now is the time to kick on and achieve the results he deserves.”
