Liverpool Ladies FC  celebrated their success off the pitch at the Football Business Awards as it scooped Partnership of the Year for its ground breaking sponsorship with Avon UK.

LLFC’s Principal Partner, Avon, partnered with the club earlier this year and is the first agreement of its kind for LLFC. The deal saw the iconic women’s beauty and cosmetic company become the first independent shirt sponsor to grace the front of the Reds shirt.

Established in 1886, Avon passionately believes in women and has a long history of empowering women around the globe. For the first time in history, Avon became the first female-focused brand to sponsor a premier ladies football team. The partnership aims to inspire women and the next generation of professional female footballers to believe in themselves and find the confidence to achieve their goals.

Billy Hogan, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer, Liverpool Football Club, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Liverpool Ladies’ partnership with Avon has been recognized as a landmark deal which aims to inspire women and continues to break boundaries for women in sport.”

Stephen Rendu, Director of Beauty and Advertising at Avon said: “We are overjoyed to have won the Partnership of the Year award, especially as we were up international contenders and Premier League clubs. Avon and Liverpool Ladies FC share the same ambition and commitment – to empower women – and through our partnership we hope to help raise awareness of an important cause and give women’s football the spotlight it deserves.”
