Founded in 1984 in the USA, Papa Johns has become one of the world’s most recognisable pizza brands with over 500 stores in the UK alone. Papa Johns joins the Tigers family at a time when partner support remains vital to the running of the club with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic still impacting the sport.
Supporters will spot the distinctive Papa Johns branding and logo on the shorts of the home and alternate 2021/22 kits when Tigers take on Wasps at Coventry Building Society Area on Sunday, January 9th (3.00pm).
Tigers and Papa Johns will be working collaboratively to deliver a number of fan activations throughout the year to engage with rugby fans and also the wider community.
Mark Davies, Head of Business Development at Leicester Tigers, said: “We are delighted to welcome a company as globally recognisable as Papa Johns in to the Tigers family of Partners.”
“They are testament to what is happening here on and off the pitch, and as a fellow business with its community at its heart we see great synergy between our two organisations.
“Today marks the start of this relationship with many new and exciting initiatives set to be announced over the coming months, all of which will serve our supporters and the wider Leicester community to enhance their interaction and experiences with the Club moving forward.”
Speaking on the partnership, Senior Director of Marketing at Papa John’s UK, Giles Codd said: “There could not be a more perfect way to kick off 2022, we’re extremely excited to be partnering with Leicester Tigers, a true giant of club rugby.”
“We have been particularly impressed by the work that the club does to engage with local communities via various projects and cannot wait to support them on this journey. Equally, we look forward to engaging with the Tigers loyal supporters throughout the season.”
